Why is the grant for allergy milk (peptide milk/amino acid based) not sufficient for all the use?
The grant is 90% but up to a maximum of 31,800 ISK per month. If more use is made, parts may have to be paid for in full. Individuals with approved purchasing authorisation can purchase hydrolyzed/amino acid-based allergy milk at a contract price from Fastus ehf. and Icepharma hf. (distributor: Parlogis, Krókháls 14). The benefit for users could be a more advantageous price but its still allowed to purchase allergy milk from other sellers.
If children cannot tolerate hydrolyzed peptide milk and require more broken down milk (amino acid-based), a higher amount of grant can be applied for.
