Regional Quota

Application for regional quota

Processing

The processing that counts as counter contribution to regional quota is:

  • filleting

  • flattening

  • freezing

  • salting

  • drying

Salting of lumpfish eggs is considered to be a part of the processing of the regional quota but the quota still includes the cod value of whole fish.

For consideration:

When allocating counterparts to regional quotas, the Directorate of Fisheries compares weight notes with weight and processing reports (VOR) and data from fish markets.

If the VOR reports indicate that a catch registered as a settlement quota for processing, does not meet the processing requirements (i.e. filleting, flattening, freezing, salting or drying), the catch will not count as a counter-contribution to the regional quota. The same applies to catches that are listed on weight notes as regional quota for processing, but then turns out to have been auctioned off at a fish market.
