Parental leave
Paid Leave & Parental Allowances in Cases of Miscarriage & Stillbirths
If parents experience a miscarriage after 18 weeks of pregnancy or a stillbirth after 22 weeks of pregnancy, they may take paid leave or claim a parental allowance.
Miscarriages
If a pregnancy results in miscarriage after 18 weeks, the parents have a mutual right to paid leave or a parental allowance for up to two months from the date of the miscarriage.
Stillbirths
If a pregnancy results in stillbirth after 22 weeks, the parents have a mutual right to paid leave or a parental allowance for up to three months from the date of the stillbirth.
