The scope of the mediation process varies depending on the circumstances of each case and whether parents wish to participate in conversations and be actively mediated.

If a parent wants the mediation to end, that is accepted.

The mediation process can reach a maximum of seven meetings and can last for a maximum of 12 months.

There may be a waiting period for a case to be brought to the attention of the mediator. Information on the case can be obtained from the District Commissioner in question.
