In order to fulfill the conditions of the permit regarding the qualification, the permit holder or the responsible person of the permit has to complete the applicable course. The Driving school in Mjódd holds the course for those applying for passenger transport permit.
An exemption from the course or individual parts of it may be granted if the applicant or the responsible person of the permit can demonstrate that they have:
completed a degree in the subject(s) mentioned in the curriculum or
have at least 10 years in work experience in running a business or business related education
Samgöngustofa can issue a temporary permit for up to one year so the applicant can attend the course to fulfill this condition.
