Bylaws of Freshwater Fisheries Associations

In order for a Freshwater Fisheries Association to organize fishing in a specific watershed, the association must operate on the basis of bylaws issued by its members and approved by the Directorate of Fisheries.

The bylaws must include the following information:

  • name of the association.

  • address and venue.

  • information about the associations district and a list of all the real estate or individuals and legal entities that are the fishing rights owners according to section II. of the Salmon and Trout Fishing act.

  • the role of the association.

  • the appointment and functions of the board of the association.

  • rules of procedure, associations accounts and auditing.

  • the obligation to submit a budget for the upcoming year for the operations at the annual meeting of the association.

  • Information about the handling of catches or dividend for each member and payments of costs of the association’s activities.
