Do you need patient education materials for your unit?

Here’s how to do it

A specific process is followed when creating educational materials for patients and their families.
See: Patient Education Materials – Process.

It is important to review the checklist for creating patient education materials for patients and their families before starting the development or writing process.
See: Patient Education Materials – Writing. It is recommended to consult with the Patient Education Editorial Team before beginning the work. The easiest way is to send an email to: sjuklingafraedsla@landspitali.is

All materials are submitted to the editorial team, which reviews them and, as appropriate, forwards them to a graphic designer at Landspítali for layout and design.

Materials can be delivered in various formats, such as written educational content or short videos. The editorial team provides further information and guidance on how best to present the material.

Publication of Patient Education Materials at Landspítali

Patient education materials are stored in the quality handbook and are published on the Landspítali external website once issued. The materials must be reviewed every 12–36 months.

Educational materials can be sent electronically to patients via Heilsuvera from the electronic health record system or Heilsugátt, or by email.

Published Patient Education Materials

The Landspítali website provides access to published educational materials issued by the hospital.

Recently Published Patient Education Materials

Educational materials are sometimes published as videos. Below is an example of recently published material:
