Notification of death

Death certificates or other documents on death

The District Commissioners may only receive a notification of death and issue a certificate of it if any of the following evidence of death is presented:

  1. A medical certificate of death.

  2. A different type of official certificate issued by the person competent for his/her official duties to certify the death.

  3. Police report.

  4. Judgment on the death of a missing person.

  5. Court order that a missing person may be divided into those where he or she was deceased.

If evidence of a death is issued abroad, the District Commissioners may require the notifier to translate the document if necessary.
