Monitoring of whaling
The Directorate of Fisheries was assigned the role of monitoring whaling in Iceland since 2009. Information on previous whaling can be found in the annual reports of the Directorate of Fisheries.
Conservation area
Regulation demarcates areas in Faxaflói and in the North East for whale watching. in these areas there is a ban on whaling and you can see the coordinates that define the areas in the regulation.
