Monitoring by fishing associations and fishing rights owners

Freshwater Fisheries Associations/fishing rights owners are in charge of inspection within their waters and they bear the cost of inspection. The Directorate of Fisheries appoints inspectors for monitoring in salmon and trout rivers if requested by a Freshwater Fisheries Associations/fishing rights owners.

Inspectors shall have free access along rivers and lakes and to fishing nets in sea. The appointed inspectors are authorized to confiscate illegal fishing gear as well as fishing gear used at an unauthorized period or at an unauthorized location.
