General information about Fiskraektarsjodur

The main role of the Fund is to provide loans and grants for projects that serve the objectives of promoting fisheries, improving fishing facilities, supporting research in rivers and lakes and increasing the value of fishing from them. Fiskraektarsjodur is composed of a four-member board appointed by the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries for a four-year term.

Two members are appointed in accordance with the nomination of The Federation of Icelandic River Owners and one in accordance with the nomination of the Association of Icelandic Angling clubs. The Minister appoints the chair of the committee.
