Individuals can apply for permission to provide accommodation for a child or children in emergency cases.
First and foremost these are children who are not considered to need special care or treatment, but cannot be in their home for a period of time, while a case is investigated or another permanent solution is found. This includes accommodation in:
boarding houses
private homes
corresponding measures
It is also possible to apply for foster care.
Application process
Applicants apply for a licence to GEV.
GEV checks to see if necessary information and correct supporting documentation is submitted with the application.
GEV sends a request for a review to child protection services or social services.
Child protection services or social services submit the review to GEV.
GEV decides on issuing a licence and sends the answer to the applicant.
Supporting documents with application
Consent for the obtaining of criminal records from all members of the household aged 15 or older. The form must be printed and filled in.
A medical certificate from a general practitioner certifying the physical and mental health of the applicant
Process
Once all the documents have been received, GEV can make a final assessment of the application and decide whether to issue a licence.
