Complaints and appeals made by the public about healthcare services vary in scope and severity. These can range from complaints about communication problems with healthcare employees to more serious cases involving mistakes.

Complaints and appeals

  • Complaints and appeals relating to treatment in healthcare facilities should be directed to the Directorate of Health and a Disputes Committee.
  • Any complaints relating to services provided by healthcare facilities should be directed to the management of those facilities.
  • In the event of a mistake or mishap occurring during a course of treatment or a surgical procedure within the public health services, patients may seek the assistance of the Social Insurance Administration.
  • In the event of a mistake or mishap occurring in the private practice of a doctor, dentist or other healthcare employee, patients may seek redress from the insurance company of the healthcare employee in question.
